Implant for Apple® iPhone® Designed to Track Data

Reports from the German news magazine Der Spiegel identify a software implant that was under designed by the National Security Agency (NSA) in 2008 for the Apple® iPhone®.  Code-named “Dropout Jeep”, this program’s initiative reportedly was to give the NSA access to iPhone® files with the ability to push or pull them. It also was to have the capability of retrieving SMS, contact list, voicemail, geolocation, hot mic, camera capture, cell tower location, and other data.
