Malicious Binary Files Released With Alleged Mt. Gox Data

The unauthorized release of alleged transaction records stolen from the bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox reportedly contains malicious binary files. Antivirus firm Kaspersky® Lab identified the MtGox2014Leak.zip file as deceptively appearing to contain Windows® and Mac® files of a back-office application. Unfortunately for those who open them, the files actually are malware programmed to steal Bitcoin wallet files from computers, Kaspersky® reports.
