Malware Hijacks Android™ Shutdown Process Unbeknownst to Users

AVG® anti-virus and Internet security software reportedly discovered malware that secretly hijacks an Android™ when the device is shut down. Users are unaware their device is affected because it sequences through the shutdown process like usual. The screen will go black and the device will seem to be off, but the phone will remain on. The malware then can command the Android™ to make phone calls, take photographs and do other tasks. The good news is only Android™ devices that have been rooted, giving the user root access to the device, are vulnerable.
