Organizations in 13 U.S. states infected by new malware!

July 24, 2015  Security Suite

Attackers came with a new method on how to illegally obtain credit card data. If an organization's employee allows the execution of a macro attachment in a spam email sent by the attacker, a malicious script installs a backdoor program. This program then connects the PC to the Andromeda botnet, which will then install another dangerous software called GamaPoS on the system. This software is able to read the memory of an organization's point-of-sale system and steal payment card data. It is obvious that such activity threatens both the organizations themselves and their customers.
