Rise in Spam Continues to Plague Email Inboxes

August 08, 2013  Malware News

Daily spam totals are estimated at 14.5 billion, and expectations are for the number to hit around 58 billion in the next 4-5 years. Spam is not only annoying but also an identity theft vehicle. The United States tops the list of countries where computers are used to deliver junk emails. The best way to stop spam from infiltrating your inbox: use an email filter; use an email address for personal messages and one for shopping, coupons, newsletters, chat rooms, etc.; create a unique email address versus a common name, which makes it more difficult for spammers to find or guess; and when submitting your email on a website, be sure to uncheck boxes signing you up for additional correspondence.
