The First Mobile Botnet that Spreads Spam Has Appeared

According to security specialists, the first botnet that interconnects infected Android™ based smartphones was created and it uses these phones for spreading spam. The largest number of them is being localized in developing countries. Most of the IP addresses are directing to Chile, Indonesia, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Russia. For sending the spam the botnet uses a Yahoo mobile application which is either infected or is abused by the controlling application. Experts agree that the largest problem is on the user's side, that people don’t follow the security basics.
