Death of the most wanted terrorist Osama bin Laden helps spread malware

May 02, 2011  Malware News

As in previous cases of natural disasters or major events in the world, we are compelled to warn users against abuse of reports of the death of the most wanted terrorist Osama bin Laden. During yesterday, our anti-spam lab has seen dozens of new phishing sites with harmful content focusing on this report. Criminals are also trying to optimize their sites aggressively to push into the front ranks of search engines asking for the latest news, exclusive photos and videos of the intervention itself. When you visit their Web site, the user is then redirected to malware or other potentially dangerous sites. We encourage our users to use only proven news sites and to use our updated Web Shield Web Security Guard.
