Fake Resumes (CVs)

June 11, 2010  Security Suite

Experts are warning of a new type of malware distribution. Companies are receiving mass emails with resume attachments containing a zipped .exe malware file, which when opened, is tasked to control your computer. These emails are generally being sent with simple sentences such as “Please review my CV, Thank you!” and the file is zipped and named “Resume_document_xxx”. Successful targets of this attack are usually people from Human Resource departments in various companies. For that reason, please be sure to regularly update your security software and keep your guard up!
