Exploit Kit Targets Newly Patched Adobe Flash® Player

Just as quickly as Adobe® released a patch to address vulnerabilities in its Adobe Flash® Player, cybercriminals began drive-by download attacks exploiting the identified vulnerabilities. The Nuclear Exploit Kit, which began its attack 7 days after Adobe released its patch, is just one example of how cybercriminals are using exploit kits to spread malware more rapidly. Exploit kits help attackers exploit security holes in vulnerable plug-ins and browsers that haven’t been updated with the latest patches. Reports indicate the Nuclear Exploit Kit is launched from hacked websites in hopes of installing a Trojan program.
