Links Between Internet Giants Reportedly Tapped by Government Program
The Washington Post® is reporting the National Security Agency (NSA) electronically infiltrated communication links between Yahoo!® and Google®, allowing it to potentially collect information from millions of account holders with the two Internet corporations. The Post reports top-secret government accounting documents as showing 181,280,466 new records were processed in Dec. 2012. These records allegedly contain names of email senders and recipients, dates and other content like text, audio and video. This operation is supposedly taking place under an operation known as the MUSCULAR program, which The Post reports is a joint program between the NSA and the British intelligence agency General Communications Headquarters (GCHQ).
