Most of Spam Comes from India

April 25, 2012  Security Suite

Most of the internet's spam comes from India, and while spam as a threat is retreating these days, we still have to face it.
Security companies, together with the government, with varied efficiency, fight against spam. The latest statistics show that the largest share of spam is from India, around 9 percent. The second largest place is occupied by the United States with an 8 percent share. Third place belongs to South Korea with 6 percent of the total amount of spam generated.
To protect you against the spam, we recommend following basic security reules: Do not open emails from unknown contacts with suspicious aliases, do not open an attachment from a likely spam email, and do not click on active links in emails. Keep your security suites updated and do not forward classical Hoax emails. More information about spam and hoaxes is available in our IT Glossary.
