Poison Ivy Trojan spreads by Skype and others IM services

May 17, 2012  Malware News

Security specialists from Sophos issued a warning with the analysis of the spread of the Poison Ivy trojan via instant messengers, primarily through Skype. The attack is being led by social engineering, when the user receives a message from a friend in his contact list with the text, "hahaha photo" and a link directing the recipient to the fake photo album. The link usually looks like hxxp://"variable text". photalbum.org. After the computer infection the Trojan creates a group from your friends in which it further self-distributes. We recommend a regular update of the security database and have maintain an active real-time shield of your security programs.
