Yahoo!® Japan Hacked, Millions of User IDs at Risk

Yahoo!® Japan confirmed user identities of 22 million subscribers may have been exposed to hackers during a security breach in the company’s servers in May. Although the attack did not access passwords or personal information that could be used to hijack an account, the company is still strongly suggesting its users change their passwords as soon as possible. Yahoo!® Japan is unsure if the file containing the usernames was leaked, but the possibility exists since unauthorized access to its server was discovered. Yahoo!® Japan is the most popular search in that country with 50% market share. Google® is second with 40%.
