Phishing Scam Uses Google® Docs to Lure Victims

March 18, 2014  Malware News

A reported email phishing campaign is using Google® Docs to lure in potential victims for their login and password information. Identified by Symantec®, the email scam reportedly uses the subject line “Documents” and directs recipients to click a link for an important document. The link, which is hosted on Google® servers, looks like a typical Google® login page, but is actually a fake. Once visitors type in their login and password information, they are redirected to Google® Docs, while their login information is sent to a compromised Web server. Most victims won’t even know their information was taken.
