Arrest Made in Hacking Scheme Against U.S. Government Agencies

The New Jersey U.S. Attorney’s Office has charged a British man with one count of accessing a U.S. department or agency computer without authorization and one count of conspiring to do the same. The federal indictment charges illegal access was made into U.S. government computer systems, including the U.S. Army, U.S. Missile Defense Agency, Environmental Protection Agency and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) between October 2012 and October 2013. Thousands of networks were reported to be compromised and confidential data stolen. The alleged hacker was arrested at his residence in the United Kingdom in connection with the ongoing investigation.
