Internet has survived the critical date 3.31.2012

April 02, 2012  Security Suite

The hacker group, Anonymous, had published on Twitter® that 3.31.2012 was to be the date when they would execute an attack on the internet eliminate it. Experts were seriously focused on this threat and several independent security teams agreed that this attack was indeed possible, provided the attacker had a large enough botnet (about a 250 thousands computers under complete control), and provided the attack was performed by DDoS.
Fortunately, the internet survived this critical date. On Twitter® a report was published stating that the true Annonymous group distances itself from this operation called "GlobalBlackOut". The report read, “GlobalBlackOut is another Fake Operation. No intention of #Anonymous to cut Internet.”
