How do I Add the Quick Launch Toolbar to Windows® 7
In the Microsoft Windows® 7 operating system the quick launch toolbar no longer displayed. Many users imitate this function by pinning their favorite applications to the taskbar and arranging them so they are close to the “Start” button. There is actually a much more elegant method of simulating the classic quick launch toolbar found in the Microsoft Windows XP® operating system. Follow the instructions below to learn how to enable it.
Adding the Quick Launch Toolbar:
- First, unlock the taskbar and right-click on it. Then uncheck the “Lock the Taskbar” option.
- Right-click on the taskbar again and choose the “Toolbars > New toolbar... ” path.
- Into the top path bar insert a “%appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch” string and click on the “Select Folder” button.
- Now that the toolbar is displayed with its name, right-click on it and uncheck “Show Text” and “Show title.”
- Now, grab the toolbar and place it on the left side of the taskbar next to the “Start” button.
- Lock the taskbar and you’re done!
