How Do I Create an Icon Out of an Image
You can easily change any shortcut icon that represents an application installed on your computer. If you want to create a custom icon from an image you have stored on your PC, you can use a free online converter that is very user friendly, just make sure the image size is 2MB or less. The instructions below show you how to work with the Pic to Icon Converter© online tool to create an icon from any digital image.
Icon creation instructions:
- Open your Internet browser and go to the Pic to Icon Converter© site.
- Click on the “IMAGE UPLOAD” button at the bottom of the text section.
- Locate the image in your computer and click on the “Open” button.
- The image will be uploaded and you must specify the preferences of the icon, such as the icon format or dimensions. You can also resize and crop the image or sharpen it.
- Click on the “APPLY” button.
- The icon will be created. You can download it by clicking on the “Click here to download the file” link in the “Image Details” section.
- Save the “.ico” file and you can set it as an icon for any shortcut.
