How Do I Restart a Windows® Service
Microsoft Windows® services are generally background applications that keep features and components of the operating system available. As a computer administrator, you can manage and monitor these Windows® services quite easily. If you need to, you can perform several operations with them such as restart or refresh, start, stop, pause, etc. If you find an issue with a service, refreshing it might be the solution you need. You can follow the steps below to learn how.
Instructions:
- Click on the “Start” button. Then, right-click on the “My Computer/Computer” icon, and choose the “Manage” option.
- The “Computer management” windows will open. On the left, expand the “Services and Applications” window.
- Click on “Services” in the left pane.
- In the right part of the windows, all available services are listed. Locate the service you want to restart and right-click on it.
- Choose the “Restart” option from the menu.
Warnings:
- Remember that once you restart or refresh the service, it will not be available during a restart.
