New attack from the JSRedirector trojan family

May 22, 2009  Malware News

The Internet has recently been flooded by a new wave of attacks from the JSRedirector trojan family. 1,000´s of websites are silently endangering their visitors by having trojans abuse the security holes in Adobe applications. When infected, the trojan downloads malware and attempts to find mapped FTP servers on your computer. It then sends its PDF and flash files with modified rights to ensure further spreading of itself and prevent easy removal. Then it tries to download another malware, modify web search results etc. The last attacks of this type are connected with start domains gumblar.cn adn martuy.cn - both have already been shut down.
